Huw is a dynamic entrepreneur and co-founder. He began his career as a Technical SEO Strategist at Salience, with over 7 years of experience in SEO and business development. Before Co-founding Leadforgedigital.com, Huw previously worked for Salience Search Marketing where he was responsible for driving commercial growth and technical health of websites such as Dreams, Carpetright, The Entertainer, Early Learning Center, and Hancocks, as well as smaller but equally exciting companies such as Flooring Supplies and Patisserie Valerie. Before this, he developed he knowledge freelancing to a number of local business as HDC Projects.

Alongside his co-founder, Jack, he brings ideas to life, determined to offer clients a high-quality and reliable service.

TheWeddingPainters: Led SEO strategy, website optimization, and technical infrastructure to drive organic growth and platform performance. Managed all aspects of search engine ranking, ensuring high visibility for key industry terms. Designed and optimized the website for seamless user experience and conversion efficiency. Implemented and maintained secure payment services, site security, and backend functionality to ensure reliability and scalability. Focused on continuous improvements to enhance platform performance, user engagement, and overall business growth.

Carpetright: Focusing on their highest ROI product, carpets & Laminate flooring, position 1 was achieved within 12 months. Currently working on engineered wood flooring and have achieved position 3, since starting on the category at the beginning of December 2023. I also spotted an opportunity for them within the rugs industry, although they didn’t have the same level of product depth as some competitors, because the brand is well known for carpets. I conducted a few optimisations to get a proof of concept and went from position 80 to position 5 for rugs which is a 165,000 search volume per month search term. 

Dreams campaign: A mature campaign that has maintained top market positioning. This campaign is a good best practice template for large scale ecommerce sites from a technical and content perspective.

Entertainer campaign: They had a very large number of discontinued products which served a 404 due to regular product cycles. I recommended they be 410 to remove the URLs from Googles Index, once implemented, along with other technical recommendations and implementing a discontinued products best practice, the site’s visibility started to increase.
